Man accused of raping woman at hotel

According to deputies, they responded to Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort on 1500 Epcot Resorts Boulevard on Monday night. The accuser, who has not been identified, told deputies she arrived at the resort around 12 a.m. and had come from Disney Springs. She went to the bar and the person with her, who has also not been named, returned to their room, deputies said. The suspect, identified by deputies as 49-year-old Eyvor Gomez, started a conversation with the accuser and eventually asked if they could drink outside following the bar’s last call for drinks.When the accuser went outside with Gomez, he allegedly told her he wanted to be out of the view of cameras, according to deputies. Gomez allegedly said the liquor he was drinking was not from the resort, according to deputies.The accuser and Gomez then moved to a corner and Gomez allegedly upset her when he made advances, leading to her cursing him out, according to deputies.Deputies said Gomez pushed the accuser against a glass wall located near the corner they were at, and the woman blacked out from hitting her head. She awoke to her skirt pulled down to her ankles, according to deputies.In fear of Gomez killing her, the accuser told deputies she left her eyes closed until the incident was over.When she opened her eyes and asked Gomez, “How did I end up like this?” Gomez said he didn’t know, the accuser told deputies. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office report shows Gomez told the accuser, “I don’t know. You just ended up like that.” The accuser distanced herself from Gomez after they went back inside of the resort and sat over by a group of people in a lounge area.According to deputies, the woman then asked the group to pretend they knew her in order to prevent Gomez from bothering her. Gomez is accused of committing sexual battery.He has been arrested and remains in custody at the Orange County Jail.Security guards at Disney were able to identify Gomez and connect him to an incident from July 3 where security escorted Gomez’s wife back to the couple’s room following their argument.
