Margaritaville’s First Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort Opens Next Year, Here’s Where

Reservations are now being taken for the newest adults-only resort outside Cancun set to open in early 2023.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya will be an all-inclusive property offering 355 suites in a wide range of categories.

Operated under the Island Reserve brand, the resort teams up both Margaritaville and Karisma Hotels & Resorts. It will feature nine food and beverage locations, three swimming pools, a spa, and an on-site brewery among its features.

“As our third property to open under the Island Reserve brand, we wanted to create a new experience for our guests that is different from the others, which is why Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya is our first adults-only destination,” Mario Mathieu, a senior vice president with Karisma, said in a statement.

The property sits on the beach, giving guests the option of relaxing at the pool or on the sand. When they return to their rooms, they have a choice of 13 different room types, all with king or double-queen layouts with views of the beach, ocean, and Mexico sky.

“Guests will be transported to an upscale coastal retreat where every room offers a view due to its crescent moon shape,” Mathieu said.

Room Options

There is a variety of choices for guests when selecting a room. King paradise suites include outdoor space, while the beachfront honeymoon suites offer an oceanfront view, wrap-around terrace, and fully furnished living area.

There is even an oceanfront studio that features a king-sized bedroom opening up to a terrace and infinity pool.

For those planning to go to the extreme, one special suite will include a fully furnished terrace, oversized infinity pool, custom grill, outdoor pool table, and private butler service.

Dining Options

The resort will include five restaurants, including JWB Steakhouse; Frank & Lola’s, an Italian trattoria; The Boathouse, an all-day dining option; Far Side of the World, featuring menu items from the Pacific Rim; and LandShark Brewery & Grill, the on-site brewery.

There are also four bars at the resort, including two swim-up bars.

“With an unmatched all-inclusive experience filled with gourmet and immersive culinary experiences, unique beverage options, exceptional personalized service, and the first LandShark Brewery in Mexico, guests will have ample opportunity to mix and mingle with other guests with the resort’s highly social ambiance,” Mathieu said.

Other Amenities

The resort will have other amenities as well, including:

  • A wedding location that allows couples to get married with views of the Caribbean for both the ceremony and reception.
  • Almost 5,000 square feet of meeting space for up to 400 people for either social gatherings or business meetings.
  • The St. Somewhere Spa with nine treatment rooms, a couples suite, and a bridal suite.
  • A fitness center that will include 700 square feet of outdoor terrace space.
  • Complimentary access to recreation activities, including kayaks, paddleboards, snorkeling, cornhole, and pickle ball.

The resort is offering a 47 percent discount for anyone that books by the end of July for a stay in 2023.
