It is believed that only one staff member has tested positive for the virus.

A post on its Facebook page said: “It is with regret that we have to announce that we will be closing from today due to a staff member testing positive for COVID.

“A number of the team were in close contact with the individual Sunday late afternoon/evening after the pub was closed and following the guidelines we have no option but to ask staff to isolate.

“We are extremely proud of all our team especially under the current circumstances and we wish the person affected a speedy recovery.

“Thankfully, no other members of the team have tested positive and we hope this remains an isolated case.

“The pub is now shut and we are waiting to hear back from authorities when we can reopen.

“Anyone who was in the pub over the weekend, there is no need to isolate unless you show symptoms or are contacted directly by track and trace.

“This was obviously a really hard decision and under the current circumstances getting back to work was something we all needed. We are really sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
