End of an Era for Ricky’s as demolition begins at Huddersfield bar famous for strippers and Town games

A legendary Huddersfield pub which put on female strippers several times a day including Tuesday teatimes is being demolished.

Rickys on Leeds Road, a once-popular hostelry with Huddersfield Town fans on matchdays, shut for good in November 2015 after 59-year-old licensee Ricky Park declared himself bankrupt.

Ricky became landlord in August 1984 and during his tenure, it developed a racy reputation.

Prior to that, it was known for decades as the Waggon and Horses and that name is etched high on its frontage.
